Goodreads: I liked using Goodreads for keeping track of
books I read and am currently reading.
This site was easy to use and also allowed me to rate books. I like that when you click on the book on the
shelf it will give you a summary of the book, ISBN number, awards book received
and much more information. Students
would enjoy using this site to keep track of books read or to keep track of
books they want to read.
LibraryThing: With this site I was able to make a shelf
with my favorite books and tag them as well.
I like the way it displayed all my books and allows me to see reviews of
books. This site was a little more
difficult for me to use than Goodreads but was not the hardest. I like the tabs on your site that is easy to maneuver
you can find your home page, search books, my books, and even other groups that
you can join. I did like this site and I
am sure that the students would like it as well since it is so easy to use.
Shelfari: I liked this site because it was linked to my
Amazon Account. It kept track of books I
had been searching in the past and allowed me to add new ones. This site also shows what rating I gave the
book right on the shelf. Students can
see if this book has a good or bad rating on the shelf and can make a decision
as to if they want to read the book.
Booklikes: Booklikes was the hardest site for me to
use. I was able to find my books but it
kept my books separate according to how I looked them up. On this site it kept my information in Blog
form and that was why the post was kept separate. If I had a hard time putting books on my
shelf I think that the students would also struggle. With this site books are already rated so you
do not have an opportunity to give the book your ranking.
Biblionasium: This site requires that you set up a class
and then you can add books. This is
really more an account you can use with students in your classroom or at the
library to keep track of books being read in class.
