ToonDoo:
This was an easy site to use for comic making
projects. This site could help students
develop stories of their own or for presenting information learned or
researched. Students would enjoy using
this site because it was easy to use and they could insert different
characters. I do wish that this site had
more characters and backgrounds to use because it is quite limited in those
areas. I think that I could use this in the library for newsletters or to even
put on my website for announcements. I
was able to save my comic to my computer and view it in my pictures but I would
have liked to link it to my Facebook, Twitter or Blogger accts. That was the only downfall to this site.
Pixton:
This site was really limited in background
options and character settings. I wish I
could have had more selection on dress and colors for my character. Also I did not like that the background was
limited to just a few settings. It was
easy to add backgrounds, text, and change color schemes. I would have liked more realistic backgrounds
and different settings that would include school settings. I think that this site could be used for
students to make projects about research topics, to help teachers with lessons
and for newsletters as well. I like this
site includes Facebook or that you can embed your comic on your website. Also this site allows you to email you comic
so that you have your link available.
Tellagami:
Please
view my Gami!! Tellagami
can be used to introduce lessons, book talks, book reviews, or you could embed
on website to give information about a variety of topics. I think students would enjoy making a Gami
because it is a fun and innovative way of getting a point across that is
different and unique.
A comic that I like is Comic Life this app is great for making posters of the students projects. I have used this app for my library website to show some student work. This is not a free app this price is $4.99 at the Apple store. However, you will like all then effects that you can do for your Comics.
These sites
and apps are fun to use and can be used in the classroom and library to help
present lessons, projects, and to embed on district website. I think that both staff and students would
enjoy these I currently use a comic app in the library that students enjoy
working with and it is called Comic Life.
This app allows students to take pictures or use existing pictures and
make it into a comic lesson. Students
currently use it for pictures of countries around the world and incorporate
them into their class presentations.
Students at my campus like use this app and think that they too would
like to use these new apps and sites.
